I'm in Phoenix for another day. I am meeting with Gary Smalley, Ted Cunnigham, Mark Connelly and my friend Michael about starting a new marriage ministry called Marriage Adventure. We have determined that in the church we are happy to have marriages that are "good enough." Marriage Adventure wants to take it up a notch so that we aren't satisfied any more with good enough. We want to shoot for greatness! We'll be working with churches to try to get programs implemented that shoot for this goal. But we'll also be equipping couples to start their own adventurous marriage. This is so fun! I love this stage of dreaming and planning. It's stressful too because there is SO MUCH to do. But these guys are great and I can't wait to see what sort of trouble we can get into!
The hotel I'm at is awesome! It is strictly old-school. Looks like it hasn't been updated since the early 80's. But it's clean, the room is huge, the air conditioner works well (critically important in Phoenix) and the little coffee maker on the bar works great. So I have no complaints. So it's all good down here int he desert.
I go from here to Orange County for the Catalyst conference. I get to see Jim and Susan for dinner on Tuesday and I'll be hanging out with my friend Mark Maines. We are going to have a good time!
